QR Codes Connecting Online to Offline

Connecting offline to online is the most obvious use-case for QR codes …scan the code on a price-tag/info sheet or at POS …get connected to online opportunity. However, uses for QR codes go well beyond connecting O2O in China.

During Covid, sportswear brand ANTA launched a full-staff retail project with its 30,000 employees, where each “digital agent” was given a personalized QR code.

The ANTA team used these personalized QR codes when presenting offers within private communities (Chat Groups) - allowing the company to connect the eventual sales of products back to specific team members.

It’s an interesting initiative. And, for brands looking to move more direct-to-consumer, this could hold some promise as a way to connect the expertise (and connections) of staff to patrons who are looking for solutions.
